How To Drain
Instructions

While your ice bath is technically mobile, most customers (99%) will use it in a fixed location.
It's important to understand all your options, as these will dictate where and how you set up and maintain your ice bath.
  • Method #1 is recommended for outdoor ice bath users.
  • Method #2 is recommended for indoor ice bath users.

As long as you have the right tools for the job then it shouldn’t take more than 20-30min to drain and move, or drain and maintain your tub.

Method 1
Recommended for outdoor ice baths

The following methods are for when your drain or water disposal area is within 10ft (3m) of your ice bath.

For example;
  • through the slatted wood decking of a covered deck or patio,
  • a storm drain in the concrete floor of a covered apartment or condo balcony,
  • a shower or bathtub drain in a bathroom right beside your ice bath, etc.

HOW TO CHOOSE
If your drain is 5ft (1.5m) away or less, choose Option A
If your drain 5ft-10ft (1.5-3m) away, choose Option B

Instructions
  1. Turn your Submerge Chiller OFF.
  1. Close the Tub Water Valve connected to the WATER IN on the Tub.
  1. Remove the Water Hose from the WATER IN on the Tub.
  1. Place the end of that Water Hose over the drain or in the direction you want the waste water to flow.
  1. Power the Chiller ON to begin pumping water out of the Tub.
    1. Water will flow from the WATER OUT hose on the Tub, and pump through the chiller and hose directed at the drain or water disposal area.
  1. Once the water is as low as the WATER OUT hole, tilt the Tub to gather the remaining water towards it until almost all of the remaining water has been pumped out.
  1. Turn OFF the Chiller when the water level is too low to continue pumping.
  1. Turn over the tub to drain the remaining water or mop up with a towel to finish.

Instructions
  1. Turn your Submerge Chiller OFF.
  1. CLOSE both Tub Water Valves.
  1. Remove BOTH Water Hoses from the Tub.
  1. Submerge the hose connected to CHILLER INLET into the water in the Tub , and point the hose connected to the CHILLER OUTLET towards the drain or water disposal area.
  1. Power the Chiller ON to begin pumping water out of the Tub.
  1. Ensure the hose in the Tub remains submerged to avoid air pumping into the Chiller. If that happens the Chiller will stall for a few seconds to prevent damage before attempting to pump again. Keep the hose under the water line until, tilting the Tub towards the end until nearly all the water has been pumped out.
  1. Turn OFF the Chiller when the water level is too low to continue pumping.
  1. Turn over the tub to drain the remaining water or mop up with a towel to finish.

Method 2
Recommended for indoor ice baths

This method utilizes a sump pump (LINK) for people who want to drain their ice baths very carefully, don’t wish to make a mess, and who want to place their ice baths where its not easy to fill or drain using other methods because of the distance.

It’s super easy
All you do is connect a garden hose to the pump, drop it into your tub, plug it in, and turn it on to begin draining through the opposite end of the garden hose.

Why would you do it this way?
This is especially useful for draining your tub indoors because you can drain your tub very efficiently to a nearby bathroom shower and avoid making any mess at all.
→ Additionally you can use a faucet to garden hose adapter (LINK) to fill your tub back up using any sink in your home and the same garden hose you use for this purpose.

The best place to keep your tub in your home is the place most convenient to use everyday. That doesn’t necessarily mean its right beside a drain or water source and thats fine because with the right tools you can easily place and maintain your ice bath anywhere you like in your home easily.

This method is not necessary if your tub is outside and have ample place to use the chiller’s pump to drain the water from the tub.

This method is only necessary when you don’t have a place to drain the tub close by.
