Instructions
There are 3 main steps for taking down and packing up your ice bath:
- Turn Off & Drain
- Disconnect & Clean
- Deflate & Pack
Step 1
Turn Off & Drain
- Press the POWER BUTTON above the circuit interrupter in the DOWN ( 0 ) position to power off the machine.
- Next turn Tub Water Valves into the OFF POSITION, and drain your Tub using one of the 2 draining methods on the How To Drain page.
Step 2
Disconnect & Clean
- Now that your tub is empty you can unplug the Chiller and start taking everything apart by removing; the 2 Water Hoses, the Water Strainer Cover, and Inner Water Strainer.
→ Rinse/Wipe/Dry everything you disconnected above.
- Open the Filter Housing, dump the water, throw away the Water Filter, and Rinse/Wipe/Dry the Lower Filter Housing and the underside of the Upper Filter Housing on the Chiller.
→ Return the Filter Housing to the Chiller. You can store the Water Strainer Cover, and the Inner Water Strainer in the Filter Housing for safe keeping.
- Using the carry handles tilt the Chiller backwards on an angle to empty any remaining water and return the 2 Drain Caps to the water INLET and OUTLETs to prevent any water leakage in transport or storage.
→ Rinse/Wipe/Dry the Lid, fold and set aside.
- Clean and dry the Submerge Tub inside and out. (and under!)
Step 3
Deflate & Pack
- Remove the Inflation Valve Cap and press the Inflation Valve Pin IN to allow the air to be released.
HEADSUP
Pressing the pin will release the pressurized air inside the tub which will WHOOSH 💨 out very loudly. You can press the pin slowly and let the air escape more slowly if you like.

- Remove the remaining air by attaching the Inflation Hose to the DEFLATE side of the Double Action Hand Pump.
NOTE
When deflating the Tub, check to ensure that the Inflation Valve Pin is in the depressed (in) position (see image). Deflate until all air has been removed, remove the inflation hose, and replace the Inflation Valve Cap.

3. Once deflated remove the 2 Water Valves, dry them, and set them aside.
You’ll know its fully deflated because you won’t be able to continue pumping with all the air gone.
Step 4
Fold & Store
The Tub can now be folded for storage.
- First fold the branded Submerge logo wall of the Tub inward.
- The back/valve wall of the Tub can now be folded over the branded side of the Tub so that the tub is flat.
For easy storage disconnect the Inflation Hose from the Double Action Air Pump and pack them in the middle of the folded Tub.
- Fold the right side of the Tub towards the center, with the fold being just outside the water fitting, and repeat on the left side.
- Hold the tri-folded Tub with one hand, and with the other, place the Storage Straps under the Tub. Fasten the Storage Straps and tighten.
- Slide the Folded Tub into the Backpack then slide in the Lid beside it, place the 2 Water Valves on top followed by the 2 Water Hoses coiled up on top before pulling the drawstring to close.
You are now mobile and ready to Submerge in your next destination 🙂
