Weekly Maintenance Instructions
Step 1
Cleaning the Strainer
What you’ll need: Small cleaning brush or an old toothbrush.
- Turn off Chiller, and turn both Tub Water Valves into the PERPENDICULAR OFF position.
- Remove the Water Hose connected to the CHILLER INLET.
- Remove the Water Strainer Cover by twisting counterclockwise and check to see if the Inner Water Strainer is dirty.
→ If it is, remove it and clean it up under a running tap. It will usually just be some hair and lint.
→ This is where the large debris in your ice bath water gets stuck.
- When clean simply re-install the Inner Water Strainer, the Water Strainer Cover and the Water Hose, and turn both Tub Water Valves into the PARALLEL ON position.
Step 2
Balance Water Chemistry
What you’ll need: Granulated chlorine, spa water test strips, pH Up, a medium sized bowl, and a spoon.
Start by using a test strip to determine what the pH and chlorine levels are in your ice bath.
If pH is LOW
- Add 3-5 tsp (15-20g) of pH Up into a bowl of water and stir until dissolved.
- Add this liquid pH Up mixture to your tub and stir until well mixed.
- Check with another test strip to confirm the pH levels are balanced.
- If pH is still too low repeat the above procedure again and test to confirm.
If Clorine is LOW (0-2ppm)
- Mix 1 tsp (3-5g) of granulated chlorine in a bowl of room temp water and stir until dissolved.
- Add the dissolved chlorine mixture to the tub and stir until well mixed.
- Check with another test strip to confirm the chlorine levels are in range (3-5ppm).
PRO TIP
Your ice bath will not require more than 1 tsp of chlorine to keep sanitized for 1 week.
Please leave your ice bath running for 10-15 minutes when done to ensure any chemicals are properly distributed through the water.
(Make sure to read Guide to Chemicals for all the details.)
