Step 2 Balance Water Chemistry
What you’ll need: Granulated chlorine, spa water test strips, pH Up, a medium sized bowl, and a spoon.

Start by using a test strip to determine what the pH and chlorine levels are in your ice bath.

If pH is LOW

  1. Add 3-5 tsp (15-20g) of pH Up into a bowl of water and stir until dissolved.
  1. Add this liquid pH Up mixture to your tub and stir until well mixed.
  1. Check with another test strip to confirm the pH levels are balanced.
    1. If pH is still too low repeat the above procedure again and test to confirm.

If Clorine is LOW (0-2ppm)

  1. Mix 1 tsp (3-5g) of granulated chlorine in a bowl of room temp water and stir until dissolved.
  1. Add the dissolved chlorine mixture to the tub and stir until well mixed.
  1. Check with another test strip to confirm the chlorine levels are in range (3-5ppm).
👉
PRO TIP Your ice bath will not require more than 1 tsp of chlorine to keep sanitized for 1 week.

Please leave your ice bath running for 10-15 minutes when done to ensure any chemicals are properly distributed through the water.
